| Decision | QRfy | Tidy QR |
|---|---|---|
| Free access | The support center describes a 7-day dynamic-code trial. | Static creation with no account, subscription or scan counter. |
| Code lifetime | Dynamic codes deactivate after the trial; upgrading the original account is the documented reactivation route. | The payload stays in the image. A linked website still needs to stay available. |
| Recorded price | Numeric paid price not verified | $0 for the implemented static tools. |
| Output workflow | Review the vendor's current export and account options. | Local SVG, PNG and vector-module PDF, with image decoding before export. |
Where QRfy is a better fit
QRfy provides a managed dynamic-code workflow and documents how a deactivated trial code can be reactivated. If a code is already printed, that account-specific recovery route may be more relevant than generating a replacement image elsewhere. The original account is an important part of that process.
Where the workflows differ
The public pricing page rendered no readable numerical prices in our check. We therefore avoid quoting historical amounts or inferring a current free static allowance from another service. Tidy QR offers a separate direct static workflow, but it cannot change the URL inside an existing QRfy symbol.
A concrete choice
For an already printed wedding invitation or sign, first decode the old image and find the account that created it. A new code containing the same final website is still a different symbol if it uses a different underlying URL. Choose between restoring the original redirect and replacing the physical artwork with an informed view of the cost.
Check the actual image before committing
Download a sample from the exact option you intend to use. Read the image with a separate scanner and compare the full payload with your intended destination. A direct address and a provider's redirect address can look identical on paper while creating different account dependencies.
Keep a copy of that decoded content with the final artwork. If the project depends on destination editing or reporting, review the vendor's terms for that selected plan, including what happens when an allowance is reached or billing stops. If the project only needs a stable destination, a static code can link to a page whose content you update yourself.
Test the final physical output, not just the preview. Phone recognition, lighting, material and the destination page all affect the visitor's experience. The comparison above describes documented product terms, not a measured ranking of scan speed or reliability.
